one little word

I was dutifully compiling a list new year's resolutions and feeling exceptionally uninspired when I discovered One Little Word by Ali Edwards.  The concept is to choose a single word, just one, to focus on over the course of the year and see where it takes you.

The idea that one little word can have a big impact on your life stopped me in my tracks and my word came to me immediately.  Serenity.

  1. (n.) The quality or state of being serene; clearness and calmness; quietness; stillness; peace.
  2. (n.) Calmness of mind; eveness of temper; undisturbed state; coolness; composure.

To face the world with equanimity and assurance - precisely the opposite of how I have faced the world in the past year - and the thought filled me with excitement and inspiration.

So much more joyful than creating that same dreary list of resolutions again, non?

What's your word?
